Charlie Crist And The Real Housewife of New York

Florida may be struggling to weather a sour economy, but don't tell that to Charlie Crist.  His $4.3 million haul in the 1st quarter of his Senate campaign dwarfs the previous record of $1.7 million set by retiring Senator Mel Martinez.  And the money's not exclusively from Florida.

Drawing on the New York society friends of his wife Carole Rome, Crist has enlisted the help of Donald Trump, Johnny Damon and a host of New York City socialites to flood his coffers.  That list includes Jill Zarin, one of the stars of the Bravo! series "Real Housewives of New York."  Zarin is, according to the St. Pete Times, a close friend of Florida's new first lady.

Zarin's Sag Harbor fundraiser is slated for July 18.  The invitation can be viewed below.
